Columbus Inspires, serving Central Ohio’s as a launch pad for great ideas focused on leadership, mentoring, and philanthropy, is pleased to announce the beginning of a large scale mural project in the Discovery District near downtown Columbus. The kick off to this project will begin with an original mural on the building located on 255 Spring Street, just east of 5th Avenue.
“Columbus Inspires is delighted to collaborate on this outdoor mural project. In addition to creating a platform for an emerging artist, Columbus Inspires celebrates the beauty of Columbus with the local community through the arts.” said Adam Malone, Columbus Inspires Chair.
Framed by the City of Columbus as a back drop, this mural is expected to be completed by mid-October. Local artists and mural visionaries, Suzy Bureau, Carrie Phillips and Julie Martin, recently approached Columbus Inspires to fund the project.
“I am thrilled to see how much Columbus Inspires has embraced this project. These young professionals seem to be really excited by the prospect of this mural being the start of a larger scale arts project in Columbus” comments Suzy Bureau, Mural Project Manager. “We believe Columbus is lacking in public art like destination murals that celebrate the diversity of our growing neighborhoods and local arts. I also think murals like this generates pride in the community. I am happy to have the opportunity to be painting this mural in Columbus. ”
